Osteopathy
Osteopathy uses a simple approach: life manifests itself in the form of movement. Where movement is prevented, illness will spread. Osteopathy knows all the large and small movements of the human body: it helps to uncover and resolve movement restrictions in terms of the internal organs (visceral), musculoskeletal system (parietal) and the skull (cranio-sacral).
The purpose of osteopathic treatment is not to combat an illness or a symptom, but rather to solve the functional disorders and blockages that cause, encourage or sustain an illness and thus to help the body regain its health. Osteopathic treatment is thus useful for most illnesses as these are often the expression of a disturbance in the interplay of the various systems of the body and the organs.
Treatment
Once a detailed medical history is obtained, diagnosis and therapy are performed exclusively with the hands. During the examination the osteopaths at our healing practices in Bozen and Desenzano del Garda feel the human tissue layer by layer. They can thus detect movement restrictions and tensions that they can then treat using techniques developed specifically for osteopathy.
Osteopathy is a form of alternative medical treatment that restores the balance of the body’s systems. The concept was developed 130 years ago by the American physician Dr Andrew Taylor Still, and has been continuously developed since.
Osteopathy has numerous areas of application. Some examples:
Musculoskeletal system:
- Sprains
- Sports injuries
- Lumbago
- Whilplash injury
- Neuralgias
- Spinal complaints
Joint problems:
- Shoulder pain
- Knee joint problems
- Jaw joint problems
- Joint blockages
Internal areas:
- Digestive problems
- Bloating
- Gastritis
- Heartburn
- Ptosis
- Agglutinations, adhesions following operations
Ear, nose and throat:

- Tinnitus
- Chronic middle-ear infammations
We at the Vedani healing practice do not view this alternative type of treatment as a replacement for but rather as a complement to conventional medicine.
